Pineridge Mountain Resort

Invermere, Real Estate and History

The town of Invermere, BC was established originally in the 1880s as a trading post, and its colourful past belies any notions people may have about this BC Ski vacation town being just another resort location.

The villa at the mountain lake that is Pine Ridge will be located just a short distance away from one of Western Canada's picturesque small town churches. Known as "The Stolen Church", it was originally located at Donald, a town near Golden, when the railroad company decided to move its service yards from Donald to Revelstoke. A family that had left Donald and had found accommodation in Invermere arranged to have the disassembled church stolen from the train yards and moved to the location it stands today. It is still a working church and you can arrange for weddings or other services through the Windermere Valley Shared Ministry's Office.

This is just one of the many stories that will greet you when you visit Invermere for your next outdoor activity holidays. Come and stay a while and discover the fascinating past of our beautiful mountain town.
